With the explosion of online investing, hundreds of websites offering information and services to the UK investor have appeared. e-traderUK, launched on 10 October 1999, aims to make this process simpler by providing the most up-to-date and authoritative guide available on the sites of interest to the UK private investor.
e-traderUK is solely devoted to investing online: we do not provide information on mortgages, pensions, banks, building societies or insurance. We also do not intend to replicate ourselves the information provided by other sites listed here, such as online share prices, share portfolios, tips or finance news. We'll simply let our users know what's out there and perhaps help them make a few well informed choices having considered all the options.
We have appeared in several reviews - see our What the papers say section for full (and honest) details.
The sites listed have been carefully selected as either:- having predominantly UK content,
- content of use to UK investors or
- unique features or original information.

Our primary role is to provide direct links to web-based services. These sites can either be accessed by either:- looking under a particular category (on the left-hand navigation bar); or
- using the alphabetical list of sites (on the bottom left-hand navigation bar).
In addition, we provide a fully searchable e-trader news section, with details of all the news items relating to online investing back to the beginning of online trading in the UK in 1995. (This service is temporarily unavailable).
